Question by caldude1010101: Would you vote for a candidate for Congress that did not reside in your district?

No, but apparently voters in New York’s 23rd District are.
~ I don’t think so. He/she would need to know something on the issues.
No not at All . It seems Ludicrous .
The U.S. Congress is composed of two houses; the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives:
1) If the candidate was running for a U.S. Senate seat it would be okay.
2) If the candidate was running for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives it would be illegal.
(However, it should be noted that gerrymandering of districts to prevent an incumbent from running would be political discrimination, and an abridgment of the right of the citizens of that district to choose the incumbent as their Representative under the U.S. Constitution.)
(This is just my opinion on this and does not represent any results from the legal study of this issue as presented in the commentary just above.)
